A change of genre...

I'm live-blogging from a book signing, for a tome titled "I Got Drunk At My Baby Shower"

It's a memoir written by two fabulous  women, Susan Bowen and Heidi Thompson, one of which is my neighbor and close friend.

The book is a memoir, which is why it's different for this blog, but don't let that discourage you. It's fantastic and provides insight onto the endeavor people call surrogacy.

I would rate this 5/5, even though it was slightly awkward to read about someone else's life, but other than that fact, I would read and reread and reread this. And reread and reread and reread. I'm very happy to have been introduced to this genre through this book, and even though it's a rarity, it's one definitely worth reading.

The book goes on sale via Amazon October 24, and is released through Tate Publishing.

Don't hesitate to read, even if you're a newcomer to memoirs. It'll make you laugh, cry, and just reminisce about life and what it truly means.

Enough with semi-cliché statements. Just read it already.

To This Day

We just wanted to show this video because we saw this in class and feel like it is important. Also that you shouldn't bully people because it's wrong and you never know what that person is going through at the moment.

~Birthtdays and Release Days~

It's been awhile, hasn't it, old chaps? Sorry. I've been busy with tons of stuff, and so has Perri. Stuff like:

~Obsessively checking Atmosphere Casting's Facebook page

So, sorry. D:

And for those of you that care, my birthday is in...count 'em, 8 days. So, yes, I have been fangirling and been putting 10, 9, 8, 7, etc. on my hand, like Lena. Hardeeharhar.

You may want to care about the day after that, though, because Cassandra Clare's finale to her prequel trilogy The Infernal Devices, titled Clockwork Princess, is released March 19, aka the day that I will be eagerly camping outside of Barnes & Noble. (Kidding. Or am I...?)

Bye for now. ;)

(Yes, I know that we have been lazy and mean bloggers, and not reviewing. Trust me, we read, then we goodreads, then we review...months later when we have the whole day free., seriously.)

Clouds by Zach Sobiech--

The courage and optimism of 17-year old Zach Sobiech inspires Perri and I, and we want to urge you to purchase the song on iTunes. All proceeds go to his foundation for osteosarcoma, which is a rare form of bone cancer. He is expected to live only until May. The both of us hope that he beats the odds, and that he will pursue his career in music. This may be one of the only songs that, however light and cheery, made me cry.

Support Zach! Buy it on iTunes here. Also, the song is on Google Play, Amazon, and others. He released a new song, titled "Fix Me Up", via his band called A Firm Handshake, and BMI records (they signed him on a contract, to let him explore the world of music).

Zach, if you read this, we just both hope that you defy predictions, and win your fight against cancer. You have our full support, at least through our blog. :*

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now  I don't particularly like this holiday for two reasons, One- all the lovesick couples giving eachother gives and acting all sweet is kind of disgusting to me. And Two- IT'S A COMMERCIAL HOLIDAY, it's not a real holiday just something the sales markets invented to sell more stuff, kind of like Christmas and while that is a real holiday most people forget why it's a holiday and just think about the gifts they're going to get. Just remember this the next time your bumed about geting clothes instead of the new x-box because there are some kids in the world who would take clothes over an x-box any day (how about giving something to them instead of getting something yourself).

252 days left & counting!

Veronica Roth--author of the Divergent Trilogy--released the book sell date, as well as part of the cover, yesterday. It's so cool!

The sell date is October 22, 2013, and we can't wait! Don't forget about the orange theme; give us your feedback and tell us what YOU think the title will be.

Divergent in Chicago!

Update: Perri and I both are auditioning for extra roles this Saturday, so we'll see you all there, and we'll take a whole bunch of pics!

Sorry guys.

I know this is old news, but...the movie adaptation of Veronica Roth's best-selling Divergent will be filmed in Chicago! Not only that, but they are asking for extras within the Chicago area (60-mi radius within Illinois). I would, but I can't. MAJOR BUMMER.

However, I will totally try and sneak on-set. Try.

If you're interested in being an extra, you have to register with Atmosphere Casting on their website, by February 9, 2013. IF YOU ARE A MINOR (< 16), YOU MUST HAVE AN ILLINOIS WORK PERMIT WITH ATMOSPHERE OR ANOTHER TALENT AGENCY.

Now, I'm off to mingle with my Dauntless and Erudite companions. Yup.
