On the "Frankenstorm":

Minor Spoilers for the following books:
-The Mortal Instruments Series
-The Caster Chronicles

Now, I know this isn't about books (well, maybe a little), and I promise to have a review up soon. I feel bad...*crawls into a dark pit, receiving insults* BUT I thought this would get some laughs, especially from you dorky geek nerds. Hey! People on the east coast! I hope you're all evacuated and safe...up here by Chicago, Lake Michigan is CRAAAZY.

Now, some funny POVs from different people on this "Frankenstorm" (aka, Hurricane Sandy).

People who have actually read Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein: The Modern Day Prometheus" : "IT'S CALLED THE CREATURESTORM! Sheesh!"

People who are fans of Beautiful Darkness (in Amma's voice, of course): "Ethan! You better go over to Lena's house RIGHT THIS INSTANT and see what's wrong! RIGHT. THIS. INSTANT!!"

People who are convinced that they're demigods: " gods." (BTW, technically, Camp Half-Blood is underwater. D:)

Those Shadowhunters out there: "Uh oh. Clary made a new rune, didn't she?"

-Candor: "I honestly don't care about this--let's all play 'Never Have I Ever' in the dark!"
-Abnegation: "Help the elderly! Help the children! Help the pregnant!"
-Dauntless: "Seek higher ground? Really? LET'S GO WINDSURFING!" (*facepalm*...people in Chi-town are, or were, surfing on the Lake...baaad idea, and a coincidence!)
-Factionless: "Uhh...we don't have anywhere to go...let's go play 'Never Have I Ever' and windsurf! We're all going to die, anyway."

Artemis Fowl freaks: "Holly?! What the heck did you do this time?!"

I hope this lightens the mood...

It's called "Amber Waves", and is by Erin McCarley.

Been listening to it on loop for about 45 min...very catchy.

The other side of scary.

Hundreds of people, waiting in anticipation. They enter, hear the tragic tale, and cautiously creep into our room. My stark white face is in great contrast to my black eyes and lips, and my partner is devilishly rag-doll like, her lashes defined and her moves lithe and slow. All types of people—the drunkards, the screamers and criers, the desensitized ones—shuffle past us, our eyes boring into their skulls. After they exit, our masks fall. We become normal girls playing dress-up, and flop on the antique couch.

So...'cause you're wondering, yes, I did write that.

Last Saturday, I got the chance (I get a lot of chances, don't I?) to work at the Haunted Mansion and Asylum 13 in the Bolingbrook Sports Dome in (what a surprise) Bolingbrook, IL. Driving a long time pays off—three words, though: HOTTEST. NIGHT. EVER.

The dome is basically a decapitated Pillsbury Doughboy laying on his back, with no limbs. It's big, white, and totally hollow on the inside (XD). Anyway, I was in the Parlor (the room right after the Foyer, AKA the creepy living room with the ghost and the doll. I was the ghost.), and scared the pants off of 30- 40- and 20-year-olds...even guys. The guys were the worst: there was one that went through the whole house, yelling "AAAAY, AAAAY," and dancing (he got kicked out). The house doesn't have a ceiling, so you could hear it everywhere. At the end, we were exhausted, and, well, started howling.

On the other hand, I had my makeup airbrushed on. It hurt! Plus, I flinched every time, so one of my guy friends kept laughing at me. And, to add on to the hotness of the dome (12 people had to be treated by EMTs due to overheating and dehydration), I had to wear a long, velvet, heavy dress, because that's what my character would wear. Oh nooooooo, I couldn't have been in the asylum part of the house, and only wear scrubs over my t-shirt and jeans, I had to change into a completely different outfit, and wear a dress over it! Thaaaanks.

Wow. This was longer than I thought. Anyway: SHOUT OUT TO DR. SPLIT-NECK AND HIS COOL FRIENDS...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! If by any chance you read this post, comment below. I need to ask you something.

(Sadly, I don't have any pics of me in my costume and makeup... :( )

The Sea of Monsters

This is for all you Percy Jackson fans! Now as you all know, the film Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief was filmed in 2009 and released in 2010. The film received lots of good reviews and we've all been waiting for the next film to come out. In past years you may have heard rumors that there was not going to be another one...well I'm here today to tell all of you pupils THAT IS A LIE!!!!!!! The second Percy Jackson and The Olympians movie, Sea of Monsters, will be coming out in theaters August 16, 2013, alongside City of Bones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dark Inside

Author: Jeyn Roberts
Pages: 336
Published: Nov. 1, 2011
Genre: childrens fiction
Ever since the beginning of time, great civilizations have fallen.

Now it's our turn.

Huge earthquakes have destroyed cities aross the land. But that's not even the worst part: all ways of communication aren't working, including phones, computers and televisions. Also, a great evil has been awakened turning normal people into killers and crazies.
Basically its like...ok...have you ever heard of that new show Revolution? Well, it's kind of like that, mixed with The Walking Dead, except instead of eating you, the crazies just kill you. The author did an amazing job with this book. This book will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more.

City of Bones, Aug. 2013!

Back at HQ, Perri and I are so excited! I snagged a paperback copy of City of Fallen Angels at Target, and was delighted to find not only an exclusive scene in which Jace narrates Clary's first kiss with him, but also a sticker announcing that the first Mortal Instruments book is being filmed!

I'm not that much of a noob. Yes, I did know CoB was being filmed, and adapted, and the approximated time it would be released. I'M JUST SO GLAD THAT THEY FINALLY PUT IT ON THE BOOKS!!!

I'm a member of the Shadowhunters' wiki: Click here! Search "made-you-read" in the search widget, and (hopefully) my account will pop up under results!

Statesville Haunted Prison & City of the Dead

Heh. Heh.

Before you read this, let me tell you how I dragged into it in the first place.

See, I've been dying to go to Statesville for years, after one Christmas, my cousin said it was awesomely scary. So, I was mini-golfing, and I wondered aloud—I need to go out with friends. When I got home, I checked my email, and the golden ticket of scariness was there! I signed up for the Zombie Army Productions newsletter (website is right here) after I saw the zombie bus for the first time, and I keep getting epic emails telling me about how epically epic the already epic Statesville Haunted Prison is this year, and how I can buy tickets on their website.
This is where I can take my friends! Of course, I'd need friends, but that's beside the point. I have Perri. And my mom.

My mom's been wanting to go for a while, too, so when she heard about my idea to go, she was all like, "Oh, I'll take you!" Perri hasn't heard anything about Statesville, except for what's on the website, which you can visit here. I've analyzed virtually everything about this, and I'm super-prepared, but I know that at the end of the day (night), we'll both probably pee our pants.

Tomorrow night will either be awesome, or it'll just suck.

Climb on!!!

If you know me (wow, I say that a lot! XD), you'll know that I am an avid rock climber. Just look at my profile page—under interests, it says, 'rock climbing'!!

Anyway, I had a competition today at Vertical Endeavors Warrenville...and failed miserably. In my division, I got last place.

But that's not the point! Once, I had a volleyball coach say that if it didn't hurt after, you didn't do it right. I'm hurting ALL OVER, so, for now, let's just assume I did it right. All the 150 people competing were pretty nice, especially the ones that beta climbed/spotted/signed off/supported me. *round of applause for them*

I learned that it doesn't matter how many routes you complete (2), but how many you attempt (12), and how hard you try (again, hurting all over). When I would fail an attempt on a bouldering problem, people would look at me like I was a bug crawling on the wall of their house. Yes, I failed! At least I'm not in denial, like some people!

The bottom line: Don't go climbing if you don't want to get hurt.

Did I just type that? Haha...maybe I did...

THE REAL BOTTOM LINE: It's the effort that counts.

There we go.

Hey hey hey, Mark of Athena...

...came out yesterday. Also, Whispers At Moonrise was released yesterday as well. :D

Did anyone look at the next Heroes of Olympus book, as stated in the very back?

(Not in those exact words, but pretty close)

If you don't already know, I'm in LOVE with Nico DiAngelo. He's hot, mysterious, and is a demigod. It can't get better than that.
