ADVENTURE UNLEASHED!

Title: Virals (Virals #1)
Author: Kathy Reichs
Publisher: Scholastic/ Penguin Group
Pub Year: 2010
Genre: Sci-Fi/ Mystery

Rating: 5/5

After being exposed to a virus-infected puppy in a research facility, Tory and the rest of her friends realize that not only is the dog infected, but possibly even them, too. With ruthless killers on their tail—no pun intended—and parents keeping them on a short leash—that one WAS intended :D—the group struggle to figure out an abandoned murder case, and along the way, themselves.

Sorry for all the bad puns...I got carried away! I normally don't like mystery novels, but this one caught my eye, and was FANTASTIC! I'm currently reading the sequel, Seizure, and am loving all of Kathy Reichs' writing.
James Patterson read the book, and this is his conclusion:
“If you love the TV show Bones…or Maximum Ride, you'll love VIRALS. Tory Brennan has gifts, and she really knows how to use them.”

This book is *$9.99 in the U.S.

I hope you like the book!

Thank you, Anderson's...

...for allowing Mr. Eoin Colfer to sign books at your bookstore!

Mr. Colfer, if you're reading this right now, I just want to say that I LOVE your writing, and will definitely look forward to your upcoming steampunk-ish novel, about the FBI, wormholes, and London! Last night was a blast, and thanks for choosing to write.

Readers: Comment if you came out to Anderson's last night...I may or may not have seen you!

ARTEMIS FOWL HAS BEEN READ!!

Yes! I finally finished AF: The Last Guardian, surprisingly later than I thought I would. Normally, I could finish that book in easily a day or two, but it's been since...Saturday? Sunday? I lost track. Anyway, here's my review!

Title: Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian (Artemis Fowl #8)
Author: Eoin Colfer
Publisher: Disney~Hyperion
Pub year: 2012
Genre: Fantasy

Rating: 4.9/5

Opal Koboi is at it again, creating an evil plan to get revenge on humankind. Haven City is rubble, electronics of all kind are destroyed, and just when the LEP are about to lose hope, their favorite rival, his feared bodyguard, and LEP on-again-off-again agent jump in to—hopefully—defeat Opal and save Haven. But to help, they'll need techie centaur Foaly, the flatulent, snippy dwarf Mulch Diggums, and two other mischievous little boys–Myles and Beckett Fowl. Read the last journey of Artemis Fowl and his comrades, and I'm sure you'll like it!

So...that was–I think– my first blurb that I've written so far...it pretty much sums up the book without giving too much away, right? Well, you wouldn't know unless you read the book, correct?
I rated the book 4.9 for personal reasons–because it's the last book in the AF series. :„(
The book is a pricey $18.99 in the U.S., and $20.99 in Canada! Don't worry, though, as after this book is done, you'll be so happy you got it!

Looking forward to Friday,
Cam

Poi Dog Pondering and Artemis Fowl

Last night, I was at the Naperville Tex Mex and Music Fest in a semi-undeveloped part of Naperville, IL, and had a blast! Country Sky Band, Asleep at the Wheel, and the full, 16-piece concert of Poi Dog Pondering. This is incredibly rare, and probably the first time in ten years that all of Poi Dog are playing together! On the super-long, two-and-a-half-hour, boring ride there, however, I made sure to bring a notebook, pen, and my hardcover copy of Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian, and I'm about halfway into it. I hope to finish the book by Friday, so I can ask Eoin Colfer tons of questions. If any of you have questions for Mr. Colfer, comment below—I'll try and get them all answered!

Speed reading--
